A tektite gemstone from the Zhamanshin crater in the northern Aral region of Kazakhstan.

Zhamanshinite is the name given to this natural glass formed as a result of a meteorite impact at this locale an estimated one million years ago.

Faceted examples of this material are rarely encountered, with this fine translucent example displaying a typically pock-marked texture due to the violent genesis of the impactite.
On close examination (image 4) the swirling structure of the material contains a myriad of tiny air bubbles.
