The gem has undergone a further post-manufacture quenching process, which is responsible for the veil-like inclusions which appear in a honeycomb-like pattern (magnified images 4 and 5).

Furthermore, this deceptive specimen contains no gas bubble inclusions, which would be a good indication of its flame-fusion origin, and the diagnostic curved growth lines are very hard to see in this gem, even under high magnification.
