A superb Sphalerite gemstone from Spain, the source of the finest specimens of this popular collectors gem.

Also known as 'Zinc Blende' this sulphide mineral is an important ore of Zinc with chemical composition (Zn,Fe)S.

This good-sized gem has excellent dispersion, around four times that of diamond , with its rich orange-red base colour offset with flashes of secondary yellow, a colour combination sometimes referred to as 'top golden red' in the trade.
