A rare greenish-yellow Sinhalite gemstone from the Ratnapura district of Sri Lanka.

Sinhalite is a rare magnesium aluminium borate mineral named in 1959 for its original source, Sri Lanka, Sinhala being the historic Sanskrit name for the island.  

Currently the only appreciable sources of this coveted gem variety are Sri Lanka and Myanmar.

This fine gemstone is eye clean and has been well cut.
