A polished Coprolite nodule segment from Lothian, Scotland bearing the fossilized excretal remains of fish which date back to the lower carboniferous period (350 million years ago). 

The outline of the remnant is fringed in golden metallic Pyrite while the more textured central section holds microscopic particles of the meal which produced it, including fish scales.

Despite its origin, this fossilized specimen is strangely attractive.
