A rare orange Scheelite gemstone from the Potosí department, Bolivia.

Known for its high lustre and dispersion, Scheelite is a calcium tungstate mineral with chemical formula Ca(WO4) and an important ore of Tungsten.

It is named for the Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele (1742-1786) the discoverer of both Chlorine and Tungsten.

This exceptional example has a saturated "fanta orange" colour, a lively appearance and good transparency and clarity for its type.
