A rare Riesling-type Beryl gemstone from Aracuai, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Originally discovered in Germany in the 1850's and named for its similarity in colour to the wine-producing grape, this uncommon Beryl variety display strong dichroism, resulting in a combination of a green body colour colour which is complimented by secondary yellow flashes.

The Brazilian deposit was uncovered in 2002 and has an unusually high refractive index for the species, registering at around the 1.59 mark.
