A highly transparent Quartz cabochon from Minas Gerais, Brazil with Rutile inclusions.

The golden-yellow Rutile in this gem forms a blocky mass of individual needle-like crystals which sprout from one end of the stone.

On close examination the parallel, aligned inclusions display a fibrous texture and form a platy prism which follows Rutile's tetragonal crystal habit.
