Product Description

An extremely scarce Poudrettite gemstone from Mogok, Myanmar.

One of the rarest and most sought-after mineral gemstone varieties on the planet, Poudretteite occurs as small colourless to pale pink crystals with a hardness of 5 on Moh's scale.
It is a cyclosilicate mineral with chemical formula KNa2B3Si12O30 and is named for the proprietors of the mine at the type locality.

The gem on offer here
is set apart by its highly saturated pinkish-red body colour, with most examples of this rare gem variety exhibiting far paler colours than this exceptional gem.

The stone is moderately to heavily included, but is evidently transparent and has a lively, lustrous appearance.
