MORGANITE
Named for the American banker and mineral collector J. Pierpont Morgan, Morganite is the pink variety of the Beryl gem family.
Its colour ranges from light pink to orange-pink salmon shades and is due to the additional presence of manganese ions which infiltrated the beryl during its growth.
Most commercially available Morganite is heat treated to bring out the pink colour.
