Kornerupine is a borosilicate mineral, first discovered in Greenland and named for the Danish geologist Andreas Nikolaus Kornerup (1857–1883). 

Transparent crystals of facetable quality are uncommon and highly collectible, with this eye-clean gem having a lively look and displaying the characteristic pleochroism of the species.
