A translucent Crocoite gemstone from Tasmania, Australia.

The rare Lead Chromate mineral Crocoite (PbCrO4) is rarely found as a faceted gem, due to the difficulty of cutting this brittle material.

Its intense orange-red colour is enhanced by its adamantine lustre.
