A superb little Amber cabochon from Myanmar.

Suspended within the transparent Amber is a tiny snail shell, perfectly preserved and visble in 3 dimensions.
Snail shells are very rarely encountered in Amber, with this specimen being a fine example.
The inclusion is very clear to see, even without magnification, and on close examination it's structure and surface texture are revealed (see magnified images 4 to 6).

The gem also displays a characteristic property of Burmite Amber, a strong blue fluorescent reaction to longwave UV illumination (image 7).
