Suspended within the transparent gem is a tiny, perfectly preserved snail shell.
Snail shells are very rarely encountered in Amber, with this specimen being a fine example.
The inclusion is very clear to see, even without magnification, and on close examination it's structure and surface texture are revealed.
In close proximity to the shell is another rarely seen insect inclusion in Burmite, a (partial) centipede (see magnified images 5 to 7).

Notably, the cabochon also displays the characteristic strong blue fluorescent reaction to UV light, as shown in image 8.
