Product Description

A spectacular Amber cabochon from Myanmar.
The deposits from this locale date back some 120 million years.

Held within the transparent Amber is a partial scorpion.
Its head and claws are missing, but its thorax and tail are intact.
Notably, its stinger at the end of its tail is well-preserved and visible by eye, although it is best appreciated under even slight magnification.
Images 4 to 7 are magnified views of the inclusion scene in this captivating cabochon, with a large ant and further detritus from the prehistoric rainforest.

When exposed to long-wave UV light, the cabochon displays a characteristic feature of Burmite amber, a distinct blue fluorescence, as shown in image 8.
