An Amber cabochon from Myanmar with a rarely encountered insect inclusion.

Suspended within the transparent Amber lies a small but eye-visible millipede.
The insect is perfectly preserved in its Amber time-capsule and under even slight magnification its details are clear to see.

Its segmented body displaying bands of colour, its limbs and extended antennae are all visible in this captivating gem.
On very close examination, other tiny insects and other remnants are visible, as shown in magnified images 4 to 6.

When exposed to UV light, the cabochon displays a very strong blue fluorescence, a common feature of Amber from this ancient source (image 7).
