A remarkable bi-colour Emerald and Bixbite combination lab-created gemstone.
The gem is a single hydrothermal growth synthetic Beryl, with approximately half of the stone a vibrant green colour and the other half a bright red.
The green portion of the stone can be called synthetic Emerald while the red portion is technically synthetic red Beryl (Bixbite).
The whole gem was grown with the colouring agent, or dopant as it is known, being changed during the growth process to form this attractive gem, probably to imitate Watermelon Tourmaline.
At the interface between the two colours there is a narrow area where they blend, resulting in a blue border (images 4 and 5)
