Product Description

A Bastnaesite gemstone from the Zagi mountains, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan.

Bastnaesite is a rare cerium-bearing carbonate-fluoride mineral with chemical formula Ce(CO3)F.

Along with its distinct pleochroism, it also displays a slight colour shift reverting from an burnt-orange colour with secondary yellow flashes in daylight and household LED lighting to a reddish-orange colour in incandescent light

This exceptional example of the species is eye clean, precision cut and has a deep, saturated body colour.
It is provided with a certificate of authenticity from the Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences of Thailand (AIGS).
