A swarm of tiny midges can be seen suspended within the transparent host.
Best viewed under magnification, the tiny insects are perfectly preserved in this relic of an ancient ecosystem, as shown in magnified images 7 to 10.

Image 11 shows the specimen when exposed to UV light, displaying a bright greenish-blue fluorescence.
