An Amber specimen from the Palo Alto mine, Dominican Republic, with a range of organic internal features.

Suspended within the transparent amber lies a Fulgaroid or Froghopper insect, a tiny wasp and the head and thorax of a male ant.
These well-preserved remnants of the ancient rainforest are shown in magnified images 7  to 10.

When exposed to UV light, the Amber displays the typical chalky greenish-blue fluorescence of the deposits from this prized source (image 11).
