A superb Amber cabochon from the La Bucara mine, Dominican Republic.

Suspended within the highly transparent host are a well-preserved parasitic Ichneumon wasp (order Hymenoptera) along with a tiny fly with frilled antennae.

The Amber also displays a distinct chalky blue fluorescence under long-wave UV illumination (image 8).
