A polished yellow-orange Amber specimen from the Baltic region with organic inclusions.

Most prominent of these is a small but visible Spider, suspended in the transparent Amber time-capsule, a remnant of the ancient forest.

When viewed under even slight magnification the creature is revealed to have a rounded body and has its legs curled beneath it.
The disruption trail which surrounds and leads from it may be the tracks of its attempt to escape the sticky clutches of the nascent Amber as it was enveloped (magnified images 6 - 8).
Also visible on close examination are other remains of the environment, including sprigs of moss-like Bryophytes along with other tiny insect inclusions (images 9 and 10).
