An Amber cabochon from the Dominican Republic with a very rare inclusion scene.

Held within the Amber is a Scarab Beetle, perfectly preserved in its transparent host.
The insect is best viewed under magnification, where its carapace displays ridges and a shiny metallic lustre.
The beetle is curled up, probably having reacted to the threat of the engulfing Amber flow, with its head curving towards it tail, as can be seen in magnified images 4 to 9.
A long-legged Gnat can also be seen in this specimen, along with other tiny insects and a filed of bubble-shaped liquid-filled enhydro features.

The cabochon has a notable chip on one edge, but is otherwise structurally sound.
