An Amber cabochon from the La Bucara mine, Dominican Republic with a wealth of internal features.

Visible within the transparent gem are a Moth, a tiny Wasp, a rare Psychodid fly, 3 Springtails, 3 Fungus Gnats and more debris from the ancient ecosystem.

When exposed to LWUV light the stone displays a characteristic chalky blue fluorescence (image 15).
