A transparent Amber cabochon from the Dominican Republic.

Suspended within the Amber is a tiny Isopod, a land-living crustacean and relative of woodlice.
On close examination, the creature displays a segmented, armoured carapace and extended limbs.
Also visible is a long twig from the tree which the Amber formed from along with several other tiny insects and other debris from the ancient ecosystem.
