An Amber cabochon from the La Toca mine, Dominican Republic with flora and fauna inclusions.

Held within the transparent Amber time-capsule are remnants of the ancient forest.
Most prominent of these is an eye-visible dark botanical sprig, most likely a segment of the stem of a flower, which shows a hairy outer texture under magnification (images 4 to 7).
Also visible under slight magnification is a tiny Ant, perfectly preserved in this captivating specimen, along with dark veils of other organic material and a field of gas bubbles (images 8 to 10).

The Amber displays a chalky greenish-ble fluorescence when exposed to UV illumination, as shown in image 11.
