An Amber cabochon from the Dominican Republic.

The highly transparent Amber holds flora and fauna from the ancient forest where it formed.
Suspended within are a tiny Fly and a sprig of Bryophite, a variety of moss or wort which is not often encountered in Amber (see magnified images 45 and 6).  
The features are just visible by eye, but are clear to see with slight magnification.

Typically of Amber from this source, the stone displays a bright chalky greenish-blue colour when exposed to longwave UV light (image 7).
