A small Amber cabochon from Myanmar with a rare insect inclusion.

Visible by eye within the transparent host is a complete and intact centipede.
When viewed under even slight magnification (images 4 to 6) the creatures anatomical details are clear to see, including its limbs and translucent body.
Such well-preserved centipedes are not commonly encountered as an Amber inclusion.

Burmite amber is also notable for its strong reaction to UV illumination, displaying a bright chalky blue fluorescence (image 7).
